White Elephant Christmas Gift Exchange Using Gift Wrap Layering as a Strategy

In the video we cover how to improve your Christmas gift exchange through gift wrap layering.

In the game, Misshelved, gift wrap layers are removed during each round, either as part of your turn, during a steal, or by playing specific cards. a gift wrap “layer” stands as a creative and strategic element that not only elevates the excitement and challenge of the game but also transforms the act of gift wrapping into a captivating game mechanic .

Instruct each player prior to your event to wrap their gift in anywhere from 4 to 10 layers.  Each layer that a player uses to disguise their gift becomes a barrier to the coveted surprise within. Each turn every player will remove a gift wrapping layer from their gift,  if a gift is stolen then an additional layer gets removed and … lastly if a card instructing you to “Remove a Layer” is played then even more layers can be removed.

This layering game mechanic not only extends the anticipation and suspense but also encourages participants to engage their wit and ingenuity in deciding when to deploy cards or initiate a steal.
